The trees that clog your gutters
Unionville and Old Markham sit under mature maples and willows near the Rouge tributaries. The newer east-end subdivisions have young street trees, but backing woodlots along the Rouge still load rear gutters heavily.
The homes we service here
Heritage two-storeys near Main Street, executive homes in Unionville, and dense new two-storey builds in Cornell and Wismer where homes share tight lot lines. Tight side yards need careful ladder setup, which is our specialty.
When to book in Markham
Markham's calendar depends on which Markham you own. The mature maples and willows near the Rouge tributaries — Unionville, Old Markham Village — drop from mid-October, with the willows trailing into November and shedding fine, whippy material for weeks after the maples finish. The newer east end sheds lighter and earlier, but the woodlots behind Cornell and Berczy keep feeding rear runs until the Rouge corridor is bare. A late-October-to-mid-November clean carries most of the city; woodlot-backing homes add the mid-fall touch-up in heavy years.
What the job involves in Markham
Two very different job profiles share this route. Heritage homes near Main Street get the careful version: hand-clearing on older gutter profiles, gentle flushing, fasteners only into sound wood — never pressure that could lift a century-old seam. Cornell and Wismer get the geometry version: laneway lots and tight side yards where ladder placement is the actual skill, and where a $349 townhouse or $399 detached clean includes a discharge check because the spout exits a metre from two foundations. Willow debris gets the hard flush everywhere; it wraps into elbows like nothing else we handle.
